Tony Bellotto, born in São Paulo in 1960, is the guitarrist of the famous Brazilian rock band Os Titãs (“The Titans”), which was founded in the 1980s. He is also a writer and the presenter of a Brazilian television show. Tony Bellotto lives in Rio de Janeiro.

Written in fresh and lively language, No buraco ("Down in the Hole") combines a fast-paced detective story with the memories of the failed rock musician Teo.

On Ipanema Beach, Teo remembers his past: How his rather mediocre band landed one great hit in the late 1980s and the golden times on the road that followed. Now living in a run-down appartment, Teo has to face the fact that he is far from being the star he once was. Then he meets the Korean girl Lien, and his whole life starts to change. But when Lien's brother Chang-Ho gets into trouble for inventing a new illegal downloading system, Teo, who has been given a thumb drive for safe-keeping, is drawn deeper and deeper into a case of bloody revenge...

Bellotto is one helluva writer. Owner of an elegant, quick, pop & cult narrative voice, this guy reaches a pinnacle of exellence and originality that's hard to find around here.
